I recommend you take your PRO-biotics with your PR I recommend you take your PRO-biotics with your PRE-biotics. The probiotics won't stick around if you’re not taking in prebiotics. The prebiotics are the food for the probiotics. ​ If you don’t feed the good bacteria they’ll just die and pass through. And you’ll just end up with expensive poo and not a very strong microbiome. How often do you say “I CAN’T EAT THAT”? Wo How often do you say “I CAN’T EAT THAT”? Words are powerful. Mindset is super powerful. If you say “I can’t eat x, y, z” your body will believe you. A better thing to say would be “I choose not to eat x, y, z”. You CAN eat anything you like. You just might not feel so great. ​ Try it now. Say: I can’t eat bread. Then, try this: I choose not to eat bread because I enjoy feeling good. Which produces a nicer feeling in your body? If we perceive our food as a threat, our bodies go into survival mode. Survival mode = sympathetic nervous system = fight or flight Fight or Flight on. Rest and Digest off. So telling your body that food is a threat is going to hurt your digestion even before the food passes your lips. Remember, I’ve been saying it all month, your body only has to PERCEIVE danger for it to go into survival mode. You CAN eat anything you like. But you deserve to CHOOSE what makes you feel great! Over millions of years, we have evolved to have a Over millions of years, we have evolved to have a symbiotic relationship with our bugs and they function as an extra organ in our bodies, one that develops a multitude of functions: ​ ​ 1️⃣ ​Strengthens our Immune System 70% of all your immune system lives in your gut. Makes sense right? ​ ​Think about it, you are constantly putting weird, external, and potentially hazardous stuff inside your body through your mouth. It's basically the first gate where infectious jerks can enter your body and mess with your health. So most of our immune system is in there to make sure everything runs smoothly. ​ ​ 2️⃣ ​Improves our nutritional profile. Some of the nutrients in foods we eat are not well-broken down until they get to our large intestine. Our gut bacteria is in charge of breaking up some food compounds and facilitating the absorption of vitamins and minerals for us, like B12. ​ ​ ​3️⃣ Helps with weight loss and management Several well-known studies* have shown that the gut microbiome differed completely between identical twins, one of whom was obese and one of whom was healthy. In one study, when the microbiome from the obese twin was transferred to mice, they gained more weight than the mice that had received the microbiome of the lean twin, despite both groups eating the same diet like B12. ​ ​ ​4️⃣ Controls blood sugar and insulin sensitivity Turns out, our microbiome produces and sends (through the portal vein that connects the gut with the liver) certain molecules that control how the liver sends glucose into the blood. Our bugs are like troops reporting to the Liver commander how much glucose (or how little) our cells need based on what we eat! ​ ​ ​5️⃣ Boosts mood and mental health. Certain species of bacteria can help produce chemicals in the brain called neurotransmitters. For example, 95% of serotonin (an antidepressant neurotransmitter) is made in the gut. The gut is also physically connected (through millions of nerves) to the brain, therefore, affecting brain health by helping control the messages that are sent up there through these nerves. ​ ​ ​Our microbiome does all of that and sooo many more things. ​ ​Super cool right!?!  #Ilovethisstuff

This is the 10km (6mile) charity paddle I did last This is the 10km (6mile) charity paddle I did last week! (And WON in my division just quietly!! 💪🏼 🏄🏼‍♀️ 🥳🥳) . Finished in 1 hour 49 minutes! . 900 million rupiah raised!! (USD $60 000!) . Huge thank you to @sos.indonesia1 and @oldmansbali for organising such an awesome event! . Will be announcing the winners of my competition very soon. . . . #Repost @sos.indonesia1 with @get_repost ・・・ Last Sunday on the 25th of October we held our first ever Million Meals Paddle Event! As a Food Rescue Foundation we had never organized an event of this scale before and were all nervously excited to make it happen! After 2 months of work and MUCH anticipation the event finally happened and we couldn't be more happy or amazed with the results 🙏🙏. On the day itself the conditions were perfect, as if the island itself knew what we were doing and was showing us its support 🌊 63 absolute legends from all over the world joined the event and paddled the impressive 10km from Pantai Jerman (Kuta) to Old Mans (Canggu) gliding across the pristine waters with a burning passion 🔥 and a smile. Together we managed to raise a astonishing 900 MILLION IDR (so far), all of which will be used to help provide the people who need it most with Valuable nutrition and hope. We are honored to have been able to facilitate The Million Meals Paddle and wouldn't have been able to do so without the support from so many amazing people, sponsors, organizations and participants 💚.
